Cavo Paradiso is the brainchild of creator and owner of the venue, Nikos Daktylides, and is based on a lifelong ambition to introduce to the island, a recreational venue that takes advantage of the natural beauty which one can find in abundance, in and around Mykonos.
After completing the initial build and suffering a nearly fatal accident on site, Nikos encountered a lot of skepticism from various people working in the mykonian nightlife. The main argument was: “ Nobody will leave Mykonos Town to go and party on an otherwise deserted hilltop”.
Well after 17 years of continuous success we can safely say now that they where wrong !! The first years, Cavo existed as an after hours party venue and first line-ups included the DEF MIX crew (Morales, Knuckles & Tomiie), Louie Vega and Kenny Dope plus many others from the US house scene, Word was spread over quickly, within the dance music industry and Cavo was on tis way, on becoming the club is today.
Ever since the dawn of the millennium, Cavo Paradiso is regarded by music industry publications, Artists and Clubbers, as one of the most impressive venues on the planet, and it is regularly voted in the top club annual lists.
Most recent accolade from an international magazine, was DJ Mag’s Best Club annaul list for 2010, with Cavo Being voted by clubbers worldwide as the 12Th Club on the planet, Jumping upwards 33 places from last years vote.
